Since its conception, Crisis Committee has been something like calculus or a turn signal-- people tend to have a vague idea that it exists, but they don't know what purpose it serves. This year, it's my hope that we can change that perception via creative excellence, a passion for service, and a ready supply of brownies.
Crisis Committee consists of a team of writers and runners who maintain balance and spontaneity in the joint crisis committees and throughout the LIMUN conference. Essentially, we serve as the heart and facilitators of the “fun committees”-- and that will take a lot of creative minds coming together, ready to be completely unconventional.
Here's how it works: within the joint crisis committees, delegates will write suggestions and motions for the Crisis Board to take under consideration. Whether it's declarations of war, assassinations, or requests to smite the mortal world, we'll be deciding whether to give the go ahead and, if so, writing up consequences for every action. The runners will commute between committees, receiving suggestions and delivering verdicts while keeping the Board updated on committee proceedings.
First year or fourth, whether you're the type of delegate who’s an outgoing ambassador, an introverted yet creative spirit, or simply one who wants to be an integral part of LIMUN in a non-traditional setting, the Crisis Committee might just be for you.
