Secretary-General and SOCHUM
My name is Martha Yin, and I am beyond ecstatic to serve as chair for the Social, Humanitarian, and Cultural (SH) committee as well as Secretary-General for this thirty-first occasion of LAMP Invitational Model United Nations. A native of Toronto, Canada, I am now a senior at LAMP High School in Montgomery, Alabama, a city I have called home for the past decade. I am actively involved with Science Olympiad, student government, and competitive swimming, and in my very rare spare time, I love watching Chinese dramas, shopping online, and taking aesthetically pleasing photos of food.
Since sophomore year, when I first joined LAMP’s traveling team, Model UN has been an integral part of my high school experience, and I look forward to sharing my passion and enthusiasm for lively debate with you as delegates. You as a United Nations general assembly will be responsible for examining, communicating, and developing a multifaceted approach to resolving some of the world’s most pressing socio-cultural conflicts, and sufficient background research and participation on your behalf will be essential to a comprehensive and engaging conversation. I am excited to offer you an opportunity to foster world peace, and I cannot wait hear your ideas in SH.
Good luck and have fun! The world will be in your hands.
