Sup dawg. Thank you for choosing the right committee. I’m Milto Geleta, and I’m honored to say that I’ll be one of the Joint Crisis Chairs! Although I haven’t been as involved in MUN as my co-chair, Frannie Seabrook, I can guarantee that I am excited to be leading this committee. As far as passions go, food and sleep are at the top of my list, just like many other LAMPers. I also enjoy video games, soccer, and I’m starting to get back into the world of Computer Science.
In all honesty, MUN was never a true passion of mine in the beginning of my high school career; like many others, it felt peripheral to my actual passions. However, participating in MUN causes you to partake in practices relating to diplomacy and international debates, which is a value that I feel like everyone can benefit from, regardless of whether public speaking is inside or outside your comfort zone.
But let’s be real. I’d rather debate over fictional concepts then the political policies that the majority of the other committees talk about. If you’re in the same boat, choose this committee. I’m thrilled to be chairing this committee, and I hope you’re planning to be in it. Get hype, because it’s ‘bout to be big hype.
