An essential element of today’s modern democracy included in the United Nations is the press, providing a link from the United Nations to the population by analyzing a diversity of perspectives. By serving in the Press Corps, delegates are to remain constantly informed about the events of their assigned committees. Unlike other Model United Nations committees, Press Corps does not have a specific agenda or an outline for planned topics. Because of this, the primary task of the press is to report on the conference as a whole. The Press Corps is comprised of reporters, photographers, videographers, and other positions that are deemed necessary; therefore, the challenge for delegates will be to use skills of journalism to effectively cover the actions and events of the conference. |
